A Virtual Museum of Canada project, this digital experience for the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society features an interactive map, timeline and quiz game that are all accessible and WCAG compliant. English and French content is supported by the user-friendly WordPress CMS.
The interactive map of cannery locations was built using the Google Maps API and includes a date slider so users can filter by year. To ensure the website content is fully accessible for all users, a list view is also available. Link highlighting and tool tips are also provided to aid the user.
